[livejournal.com profile] snopes_faith gave me the following questions:

I'd think hanging out in the jungle and bathing most of the time sounds pretty nifty, actually. I'm mostly a nightowl, so I wouldn't have to change my behavioral patterns much and I'm certainly not opposed to becoming a vegetarian again. Also, my kids would have cool stripes.

It's difficult to pin down, but I think that would have been Hill Street Blues, which one of our TV channels basically ran in endless rotation. I had it on VHS (the good old days), I had lists of the episode titles, the US episode titles, all the appearing actors, writers, directors and producers and I was constantly plaguing my best friend - who didn't get the channel - with tales about the show. Not too bad for something which at that point had been cancelled for almost ten years. I haven't watched it recently, but I assume some of it certainly didn't age well (it already was somewhat anachronistic when I first saw it).

I don't even have to think about that: Doctor Who.

Everywhere! :)
Okay, let's start with Prague.

Presumably Lord Of The Rings, although not in the way you might think. The DVD extras had me seriously consider a career in set designing/model sculpturing, and even though I haven't done that, I've at least opened up to the idea of creatively developing things that go beyond illustrations.

If you want me to ask you five questions, tell me your favourite character from one of your favourite books.

And would be ultra cute! Baby Tapirs are adorable if the one in the local wildlife park was any guide. Are you likely to be eaten by much as a Tapir? What are there defence mechanisms?

Interesting about Hill Street Blues because I always suspected that show was awesome but just never got around to seeing enough eps to get to know the big cast. It does have my all time favourite theme tune, though. Damnit, I must get the boxed sets and make the effort. Does it start off golden or does it take a season or two to find its feet would you say?

Prague looks lovely...apart from, sadly, the hordes and hordes of my country folk who have deemed it stag party central and which puts me off a bit. Apart from that it looks amazing.

So interesting to hea about the Lord of the rings extras being so influential. What kind of things would you like to do specifically, either as a hobby or otherwise?

According to wikipedia, they have to be on the lookout for common predators of their territories - jaguars, tigers, anacondas and crocodiles. Apparently they have very thick skin on their neck, which protects them somewhat, they can hide in the water or in the undergrowth (especially when it's a croc, I guess) and they run pretty fast. As for defending themselves directly against humans, I believe they also bite if necessary.

It's brilliant, isn't it?

It's been over a decade, but I'd say the first season is already pretty good. The first four are the best, the fifth season is horrible (despite having a very young Frances McDormand in a recurring role), and the last two are of better quality, but didn't capture me emotionally.
There are masses of famous TV (and in some cases movie) actors in early roles.

This I didn't know! I was interested because of its history and, well. Kafka.*hides*

Well, I draw, but that hasn't really been influenced by LOTR. I do illustrations; so far, I've done pictures for a roleplaying system some friends of mine have developed. I'm also working on developing my own knitting patterns and designs eventually, but my work with textiles has been very tentative because it never used to be my medium. That's where LOTR comes in, because for me, it has been inspirational to do things with fabric and other materials, not just paint or graphit or the computer. It's all still very abstract and more ideas than anything concrete...
