Stolen from... [personal profile] everythingshiny, apparently.

Your main fandom of the year?
Started out at the beginning of the year with Fringe and Lost Girl, moved on to Game Of Thrones, wandered over to Teen Wolf and Elementary, and ended up with the Hobbit in winter. It's both a representation of what types of stories I currently like, and which worlds and narratives I apparently come back to again and again (namely Peter Jackson's take on Tolkien, Sherlock Holmes, and the most bizarre corners of J.J. Abrams' brain).

Your favorite film you watched this year?
I only watched three, but really liked all of them, so this is a bit difficult. Emotionally, I would have to say The Hobbit, but where the filmgeek in me is concerned, it has to be The Artist.

Your favorite book read this year?
I want to say the Matthew Shardlake mysteries, with the small caveat that I may have started them in 2011. They do have most things I want from mysteries - a convincing, well-researched setting, cases that are used to explore social relations, and engaging, well-drawn characters. Quite recommendable.

Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
The Soundtrack for Game Of Thrones, Season Two.

Your favorite TV show of the year?
I'm sure you will be surprised to hear it was Game Of Thrones, though Elementary, Teen Wolf and The Walking Dead are close runners up.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Elementary, Teen Wolf and Beauty and the Beast. And I finally managed to watch North and South (The Gaskell, not the Jakes version), only eight years after it aired!

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Misfits, which had such a great start and lost steam so quickly.

Your fandom boyfriend of the year?
I'm never sure what this exactly means, but if it's character, it's Lincoln Lee from Fringe. If it means actor, it has to be Richard Armitage, whom I've known about for at least five or six years, without ever watching him in anything. (...I know. Just... Robin Hood. It's really kind of off-putting to me.) Fortunately, The Hobbit changed that.

Your fandom girlfriend of the year?
Olivia Dunham, still, for characters. For actors, Lana Parilla for the coolness factor (she deliciously plays the Evil Queen on Once Upon A Time). And Dame Judi Dench, because she is awesome, fights for gender equality, and does rude embroidery, among other things.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

The most missed of your old fandoms?
I miss most of my sci-fi shows, actually.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I'm currently flirting with Homeland and Shameless (US version). I'll probably also have to at least look into The Almighty Johnsons, to support the line of Durin.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
Game Of Thrones Season 3, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Hobbit, Part 2, and I hear Neil Gaiman is having a new book coming out.
