monanotlisa, who helped me significantly in solving the problem mentioned in the previous post. She requested a drabble for Monica, and gave me the prompt "Chad," which I, er, managed to incorporate. In a way.
No actual title; no actual spoilers for Season Two of Heroes, except that a character named Monica exists. Gen.
Be gentle, this is my first attempt at something like this.
Monica remembers them sitting on the couch together, waiting for Camille to pick her up. Mom is silently focussed on the TV, something on the war in Sudan and its influence on the greater region, while Monica is anxious - she is looking forward to a girls' night out, really, but Camille has been so snappy lately, as if Monica has suddenly become someone else because of a college acceptance letter. She fidgets, and is about to check her watch for the upteenth time, when Mom suddenly grabs her hand and presses it, without once taking her eyes off the screen.
