Drinking the Kool-Aid

So, I've been watching the new episodes of Lost and...er... is Season Three any good? If I find Jack desperately boring, are there any episodes I should really avoid?

(In case it helps, I find myself especially interested in The Others and the Helicopter People, but obviously they weren't there before Season Four)
