It's Sunday, why not do this.
1. When did you start watching?
When I was around 11 I think.
1a. Why?
It was on on Saturday mornings, and I liked Sci-fi.
2. What was your first episode?
I honestly don't remember. I'm pretty sure it was from Seven's second series. It was probably either the episode with the evil candy thingie or Battlefield - I'm pretty sure the TV station showed them out of order, anyway.
3. Which episodes have you seen?
Almost all of Seven's run, although I can't remember many episodes with Mel - I presume I suppressed the memories. One or two episodes with Six. The Five Doctors. A couple of Three stories, from around the time when he got Jo and The Master. The, er, TV movie. All of the New Series, including x-mas specials. About seven episodes of Torchwood, which I mostly dislike, and all of Sarah Jane Adventures, which I adore. The opening credits for K9 & Company, which are ... interesting.
3a. Favourite?
The Curse of Fenric. Battlefield. The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. Mind of Evil. (Seriously, Mind of Evil? Best. Master Episode. Ever. And very slashy.)The Charles Dickens one. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. Tooth and Claw. The Girl in the Fireplace.. The Impossible Planet/The Satan's Pit. The one with Tony Head and Liz Sladen, don't remember the title. Smith & Jones. The Shakespeare Code. Human Nature/Family of Blood. Blink. Utopia/The Sound of Drums.
4. Are your friends/family interested in the show?
A couple of my internet friends like it, as do some of my RL friends.
5. Which Doctor is your favourite?
It's a toss up between Three and Seven, although I might like Seven a tad better.
6. Which Doctor is your least favourite?
From those I've actually seen, Nine/Christopher Eccleston.
7. Which TV companion is your favourite?
Ace. I liked what I've seen of Tegan as well, and Martha is awesome.
8. Which TV companion is your least favourite?
Grace from the TV movie.
9. Do you listen to the Big Finish audios?
No.
9a. If so, which is your favourite?
Well...
9b. Also: which Big Finish companion is your favourite?
...
10. Have you listened to any non-Big Finish audios?
...
10a. If so, which is your favourite?
...shuffles feet...
11. Have you read any of the novels or short stories?
No, although I have a story by Paul Cornell bookmarked.
11a. Have you written any of the novels or short stories?
Not that I would remember.
11b. Which is your favourite?
Sniff.
12. Have you read any of the comics?
No. This meme is making me feel uninformed.
12a. You guessed it - which is your favourite?
...twiddles fingers.....
13. Do you watch any of the spinoffs (e.g. Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures)?
Yes, I do.
13a. Which is your favourite?
Sarah Jane Adventures. I like the characters better, it's less forcefully cool and it relies far less on idiot plots.
14. Is there any particular episode/book/audio/comic you desperately want to watch/listen to/read?
I'd like to see more of Three and Two, and possibly Five. Maybe even Four.
Fandom
1. Do you write fanfic for Doctor Who?
No.
1a. If so, post a snippet of a work-in-progress (or several)!
Sorry...
2. Do you create Doctor Who icons?
No, but I use them...
2a. Let's see a sample!
*points at icon*
3. Recommend a fanfic/icon/fanvid/fancomic/fancreation!
Sorry, it's been ages since I read anything Who. Someone wrote a delightful Three/Alias crossover, which I will link as soon as I've found it.
4. Have you been to any Doctor Who conventions?
No.
5. Have you ever dressed up as a Doctor Who character?
Not yet.
6. Do you own any Doctor Who merchandise?
No, but I'd like to knit a Dalek.
7. Are you a fan of Russell T Davies?
His writing? Not on Who so much, but I mostly liked Casanova.
7a. Steven Moffat?
I would say so. I thought Jekyll was awfully confused, but I like what he does with shorter formats.
7b. Paul Cornell?
I liked Family of Blood/Human Nature, but I remember disliking some of his other stuff, so I'd say he's hit or miss.
8. What say you to Season 6b?
I didn't take it!
9. The UNIT dating controversy?
Well, to me it's okay if the UNIT crew wants to date. Although Benton should keep in mind that The Brig is married.
10. The Blinovitch Limitation effect?
I'm sure that's something incredibly important and that it's absence would make the universe collapse.
11. Multi-Doctor episodes?
Sure!
12. What's your favourite Doctor Who technobabble?
Timey-wimey wibbly wobbly ... stuff. Because it pretty much sums up how I feel when trying to analyse time travel.
13. Have you watched other TV shows exclusively because of the presence of Doctor Who actors?
I knew Eccleston way before Doctor Who, and almost didn't watch it because of him. Ditto for John Simm, sans the "didn't want to watch because of him." I have watched quite a bit of David Tennant after hearing he would be Ten, and became a great fan of Blackpool, specifically.
14. Have you met any of the actors?
No.
14a. Travelled to any filming locations?
No.
15. What do you think of The Curse of Fatal Death?
Haven't seen it.
16. Do you have any fannish opinions that you think are fairly unpopular?
I love Seven.
17. What's your favourite pairing?
Ace/Explosives. Doctor/TARDIS.
18. What pairing(s) won't you touch with a really long pole?
Master/Drums started out fun, but then became tedious pretty quickly.

Date: 2008-02-16 12:15 am (UTC)Personally my ultimate Master pairing is Master/Master's music taste. I think I've watched those last three episodes about four times over and then just the scenes where the Master demonstrates his taste in music another five times each. :)
