I've finally started reading the graphic novel, because somebody (and another somebody) urged me to do so, and it's totally depressing, yet awesomely compelling, and I can't stop reading it and now there are only 4 issues left, and.... erm. Help?

Also, somewhat cryptically: the Lost producers have read this, too, right? Some elements seemed *really* familiar.

ETA: There are now spoilers in the comments.

Given the Lost producers are grown up geeks the same way some of the Heroes staff (though not Kring himself) and Joss and RTD are, it's a pretty safe bet to assume they've read Watchmen. "Totally depressing yet awesomely compelling" fits it exactly. [livejournal.com profile] rozk has a great story about interviewing Alan Moore (with Neil Gaiman in tow, no less - err, Roz had Gaiman in tow, not Moore) about it back in the day, ask her about it.

Re: Kaveney/Gaiman and Moore: I think Neil Gaiman wrote about that, too. Or he has met him more than once, which is of course very likely.
