Drive-by Watch: Doctor Who, Mark of the Rani (Part I)

We-ell... I think "interesting" describes it best. I do love The Rani, as was expected, and I pity Nicola Bryant for the atrocious costume she has to wear, which unfortunately doesn't quite manage to drown out Colin Baker's Death by Miss-Matched Colours Suit. Anthony Ainley, meanwhile, could really add a few more evil chuckles to his performance, it seems almost tame. And Peri's accent really doesn't sound half bad next to the "locals." All in all though I have to admit I won't be joining the exclusive lj club of proud and brave lovers of the Sixth Doctor. Sorry, futuresoon!

P.S.: I guess I have to wait for Part 2 to see The Rani kneeing The Master in his prized heirlooms?

Girl, you are a fast correspondent, I only just posted this! As for Colin Baker, I do think he's kind of good-looking, apart from the clothes. And he has a very nice smile in the credits!

It is indeed a Chuck moodtheme and I've had it for a few months I think? It's probably because you read my posts on your flists, which likely has your own moodtheme.

When one has very little to do besides refresh one's flist, one becomes a very fast correspondent indeed. And, Jesus, Colin Baker's smile in the credits is creeeeepyyyy.

My flist lets people keep their moodthemes, so, no, it is probably just that I am very unobservant. Or that I've been thinking more about Chuck as of late (found a motherlode of good fic for it) and thus am more likely to notice things.

Given that I've written it, yes! I never read much Chuck/Casey until now, actually, though I shipped them from the start; obviously the character who's only been in three episodes was the better one to start with.

To be honest, I have a much harder time seeing Chuck and Casey than Chuck and Bryce. I mean, they even share a girlfriend, that's practically like being a couple once removed.*

Chuck and Casey do not get quite the explosion of subtext Chuck and Bryce do, it is true, but Chuck vs. The Undercover Lover is what settled it for me. It's just--SO ADORABLE, MAN, EVEN IN A KIND OF ABUSIVE WAY.
