Doctor Who: The End of Time, Part One
Dec. 26th, 2009 12:51 pmWell, that was ... interesting. I mean, I liked it. In a way.
It was obviously complete and utter crack, and there were some really strange vibes, between the Master Resurrection Group, who reminded me faintly of certain Hollywood Nazi women clichés, and the Naismiths who seemed rather *close* for a father-daughter combo right down to the Master wearing a collar and a leash. I mean, not that I object to the latter, but, seriously? Not to mention that they had him literally eat everything (and everyone) in sight; I felt for poor John Simm.
I vaguely remember there being other things - the scientist cacti, Donna, Wilf being endearing, the usual ex-couple vibes between Doctor and Master (now with childhood memories! And the Master hitting on the Doctor in form of a whole species!), the drums actually being real, far too many Star Wars references, and of course Timothy Dalton, Time Lord, but mostly my reaction was an hour-long "uh...what?"
It was pretty entertaining, though.
